Sportradar has agreed to sell its Atrium Sports coaching and scouting business to Teamworks Innovations for $170 million in cash, narrowing its focus on betting technology, gaming and media services.
Announced on October 7, 2026, the transaction covers Atrium Sports, a division of Synergy Sports. The deal is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The Swiss sports technology company will retain several capabilities developed within the wider business, including automated video production, graphics, computer vision and competition management technology.
The decision separates Sportradar's coaching and scouting operations from the technology it considers relevant to its remaining commercial activities.
Why Sportradar Is Reshaping Its Technology Business
Sportradar supplies sports data, technology and related services to betting operators and media businesses. Its products support activities ranging from live sports coverage and data distribution to betting markets and digital engagement.
Selling Atrium Sports allows the company to reduce its exposure to coaching and scouting software while retaining selected technologies that can support its betting and media products.
The retained computer vision and automated video capabilities are particularly relevant to the development of sports-related digital services. These technologies can help process sporting events, generate visual content and support data-driven applications.
However, Sportradar has not announced specific new casino app features or mobile products resulting from the sale.
The $170 million consideration is also not equivalent to an announced investment budget. The company has not specified how the proceeds will be allocated.
What Could Change for Betting Apps in 2027?
For mobile betting platforms, the significance of the transaction lies in Sportradar's changing technology priorities rather than any other immediate change.
Live sports data, automated content production and real-time information are important components of modern sportsbook experiences. Suppliers that concentrate resources on these services could influence how operators develop their mobile products.
Sportradar also serves the emerging prediction-market sector, where reliable sports data and event information are central to contract pricing and settlement.
As regulatory disputes involving prediction markets continue in the United States, technology suppliers may face growing demand for accurate data, market monitoring and reliable event information.
The divestiture does not establish that Sportradar will expand any particular prediction-market service. It does, however, leave the company with a more concentrated portfolio of betting, gaming and media technology.
The question for 2027 is whether this narrower focus translates into new products, improved technology or further investment in the infrastructure behind sports betting and prediction-market apps.
